Food causes chaos on handover.

By Philimon Badagawa.

Leaders come and go and on 10th we saw Rengo’s government handing over the guild office to his successor Okebe Nathan. The occasion took place at the University sports ground.
In his speech, Okebe said “Museveni begun with 27, for me I begun with 7 and they are clapping……” He however clarified that his term of office will be full of dialogue.
“When people look at Okebe, they only think of a strike, but am assuring you this time I’ve come for diplomacy and we are ready for dialogue”. Okebe assured the students. The new appointed cabinet and state ministers as well as the honorable members of parliament were on this day dressed to kill.
The mayor of Entebbe was the chief guest and he congratulated Nathan for having emerged out of the struggle as the winner. Mr. Kasasa who is the Dean of students encouraged the guild to always work hand in hand with administration to see that the president fulfills his manifesto. “Come to us and we shall always help you. We’re there to help you and we shall have a solution to your problems….”says the dean of students.
As they say that food first and that a hungry dog is a hungry dog, honorable members were seen struggling to get food after listening to promising words from the invited guests. The food that was severed was so delicious that some students took over the role of the waitresses and instead severed themselves with many bottles of soda and countless peaces of meat. One wonders what would happen if these students attend occasions where there is self-service.
What made me laugh was that some out going MPs had nothing to hand over and they could only offer a hugger instead of a file. To make it fun, some were seen borrowing files from those who had carried theirs. Worse still those who had the files, filled them with notes.
