By Philimon Badagawa The guild election set for late this month will be organised by the University administration. Unlike the previous guild governments that have been handling this exercise, this time, the administration is going to head the guild electoral commission.
Nkumba Times has learnt that the nominations will be on the 22nd of this month and election is scheduled for 1st and 2nd of April 2011. It should be noted that the previous guild government served for a short period of time before it’s activities were suspended indefinitely by the University administration.
According to sources, this time the prime minister will be appointed by the president, something that will minimise power struggle in the guild. Elections will be conducted at the different halls of residence and not at the guild information centre as it has been.
