Basoga -Nsete in Financial Turmoil

By James Mubi
Busoga Parliament

The members from Basoga Nsete are having back to back meetings to tackle the former Chairman Akim Waita about accountability from the just concluded hand over party that took place on Oct 17 at Comfort Hotel. The issue of accountability has precipitated Akim into media for the last two weeks.
The matter of accountability is breeding anxiety among Basoga-Nsete members and it has left the association divided, leaving the future of the association for Mother Nature. While addressing the Nsete members, on Tuesday 27, Akim explained that he even used his own money (sixty thousand) to have the occasion a success. “People are bringing their personal grievances to tarnish my name; I work for the harmony and interests of the association I never used even a single coin for personal gains,” Akim added.
The disgruntled members intimated to Nkumba Times that they missed out on sweet potatoes, chicken and sodas moreover the purchasing team that consists of Lillian, Tracy, Agnes, and Akim claim that they purchased what is enough for the members, the invited guests and that they have the records. It’s on the grounds that members missed out on food and drinks that caused murmurs among Nsete members to have their former chairman under tight scrutiny. Nsete members have sealed their lips up to now on the amount of money they are suspecting him to have misappropriated.
The dust in Basoga Nsete is expected to settle down on Thursday, Nov.5 when Akim Waita who also doubles as Minister for Education will be presenting full accountability to the skeptical members who went further ahead to castigate him on the way he distributed out certificates of merit. During a meeting that took place on Tuesday 27, and ended up in disorder, members accused Akim of giving out three certificates to some of the members who are purported to have done nothing. They requested all members who had got certificates to return them back such that they can be distributed out fairly.
The long standing troubles in Basoga Nsete come at a time when the new executive is in the budding period
