Nkumba University FC Targets to Win 3m

Nkumba University football club are favorites to win the Wakiso first division Tournament after winning their first two opening matches.
Nkumba FC opened with Entebbe young who they defeated 2-0 with both goals coming in the first half.
The first goal was scored by Kakanga Robert popularly known as “Kaka” and the second by Andrew Lubogo the team captain. The game was played at Nkumba University play ground on Sunday 14th February 2010.
The second match was between Lweza Football club and Nkumba University FC and it ended 0-1 respectively.
The goal that was scored by Zirimenya Alan in the first half made Nkumba walk away with three points at the end of the day.
These games were organized by Wakiso Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Delegates with the aim of discovering and developing talents from grassroots.
The FUFA boss, Lawrence Mulindwa who also hails from he same district is one of the organizers.
It’s said that the winning Team will be given three million, two and one million for the second and third respectively. There are lots of other prizes to be won.
Mr. Ssebuliba Patrick who is the patron of Nkumba FC pledged 10,000 to every goal scored by the team in the tournament which has increased a lot of Team work and work rate among players struggling to win that money.
These games have come when Nkumba University have just concluded the Inter University games which they hosted in December 2009. Nkumba finished in the 4th position were they managed to win many gold medals, silver and cups.
The next game in the Wakiso first division tournament will be played here at Nkumba University sports ground between Nkumba FC and Migade FC on Sunday 21st.feb.2010 at 4:00 pm.
